yeah, i just saw that. better than last series, i reckon, if they carry on like that. closer to the mitchell and webb situation than the last one, and the situation was wicked.

I've seen more of the situation than the look as I have the DVD, and I reckon that was better than the situation. I thought it was wicked. Padlock folding was immense for so many reasons, half of it being in welsh, the acoustic guitar interludes, the padlock swimming with all of it's friends, and just the concept. I really lolled at the football advert as well. I think the beauty of most of it was just how long each sketch was dragged out for

i liked the stone age/bronze age transition one. and the numberwang code.

the problem with the last season of Look was they got a little repetetive with some of the characters. so far the only characters they've used again is sir digby chicken caesar. which wasn't quite as good as it was before. oh, and numberwang, kindof, but that doesn't count cos it was completely different.

yeah but that was the first episode of the series wasn't it? so they might just repeat those characters for the rest of the series. Hope not, although I would love to learn some more padlock folding. But yeah, bronze age and wangernum code were funny. the mitchell and webb look garden was alright as well. I can't remember any more at the moment

there was that 70's saucy hospital at the start. although i missed the actual start, so that might not have been the beginning.

that wasn't quite the start but it was near the start. at the end there was the job interview with the man there to put the guy off.

An Observation:

its just dawned on me that these guys are similar to fry and laurie... in that they both came from Cambridge Footlights, have their own sketch show, and star in another show written by some one else (jeeves and wooster, peep show).

the film critic sketch is very fry and laurie, they did loads of critic ones. and they sometimes break the fourth wall. and they do quite articulate intelligent stuff mixed with more silly stuff.

fry and laurie are much better though.

yeah i caught this too. the hospital innuendo one was brilliant, if a little crude. i lolled a lot at 'the boy with an arse for a face' as well. i love it when sir digby chicken caeser sings his theme tune when theyre being chased.

tbh, i thought tonights was lame. not all lame, but partly. i much preferred last week. it might be mainly cos i was watching it with all of my family around and there was more swearing and sex than last week. but i watched last week's with mes parents and we all laughed a lot.

i did like the vets/cooks sketch this week though. i'd just watched the end of masterchef before that, so i was in the mood for some funny food.

the film writers one with the american lawyer drama was good too.

yeah, last nights was unfortunately weak. i enjoyed the numberwang boardgame sketch, and the stuff about Speedo. the sketch about the builder coming to fit the revolving bookcase door was quite good too.

that's the thing that distinguishes good sketch shows from great ones, is consistency. there are very few consistently very good ones. hopefully next week will be a little better.
