i watched the new live half-hour jools holland tonight, and there was this really good singer/songwriter girl with a band, she was called Brandi Carlisle. dunno if anyone's heard her before, i thought she was really good. i'm gonna check her on internets but haven't done so yet.

the song i heard on jools is ok but not fab, it's really just her voice that sells it, which is very good. some of the other stuff on her site is horribly country-ish. really horribly.

oceansize were on my 'to be got into' list ages ago. as in, at least two years ago, i think. but i got distracted, probably by some folk-pop artist or other. woah... i might have a completely different music taste now, if i'd happened to get hold of an oceansize track before getting distracted.

phil, have you ever got your Thrice on? are they your genreal kinda scene, or have i got the wrong impression of them for some reason? anyway, i might get hold of some of the alchemy index at some point, it's getting a lot of non-press press, and i'm curious and bored.
