The day the skies split in two... |

I thought it was about time we got some meaningful discussion going on here.
So, rachael and I were just talking about how the world seems to be reaching breaking point, and how we as a society seem to be leaning ever closer to what the bible describes the end-times to be like. taking that into account, what are you guyses thoughts on how our planet is taking shape, and how you feel about the end of the world.

it's a daunting prospect, i must admit. sort of hard to comprehend completely and totally in your head. surreal. but yeah... the planet is getting ever worse. wars, natural disasters every whichinwhere. 'cults'

i was talking to an awesome guy in austria, and he was saying how the way he sees it, things in revelation and such, are very symbolic but can be applied to our lives these days, but could also have been applied throughout history back to the early church. he was saying how there probably isn't one antichrist who we are still waiting for, but that there have been lots of antichrists, like nero. he also said how the number of the beast fits in with nero, and how you needed it to trade back in his reign. anyway, i've gone miles away from the point. obviously there are end times on their way, but it's not for us to know when. there's no use in guessing or predicting.

i second james, it's never going to be predictable, and i have no doubt people will have been saying the same things about the planet seeming to be aligning itself with the end times for the last 2000 years.

you're probably right. it just seems to me that somehow, the western world in particular, seems to be definately coming to some sort of climax. what with democracy, freedom, security, all seemingly falling apart for their own sake, every religion seems to be facing opposition from everyone else in the world, prejudice, poverty, injustice etc all seem to be rife in society atm. i just cant help feeling that the world is tugging and tugging on a bunjee cord, and sooner or later its gonna ping we'll all feel the impact.
then again, i have no idea what things have been like in other eras and so everything i've just said could be entirely irrelavent.
sorry, that was such a poorly constructed post...
